What's new? This week, we introduced a new item– holy water, which can destroy ghosts when thrown. We also introduced a system to use jewels: in the basement, there is a portrait  where you can purchase amulets and holy water.  We introduced special doors in the basement, where you need a specific key to open the door (with matching key and door colors). We reintroduced our health system back in, but instead of being able to possess other players when you die, the player respawns at the front of the room and  loses their items. We also decided on split coop/competitive stages. Some stages are meant to be  cooperative, and do not have gems lying around the stage while some stages are meant  to be competitive. This is not obvious in the current build, but are working with a  PAT student to have different music for coop/competitive stages and help differentiate these stages.

Motivation? In previous iterations, we had rocks that could be thrown at ghosts to slow them down, but it was not obvious what they were used for. Although the ghosts' speed was halved each time a rock was thrown, it was not obvious until multiple rocks were thrown, so we decided to scrap the rocks and destroy the ghost completely with holy water. We also decided to bring our health system back in because the ghosts posed little threat when they only stole jewels.  Previously, we also received feedback that it was confusing whether our game was coop or competitive, so we decided to keep both but differentiate the coop/competitive stages more clearly with dialogue.

What's next? - Adding more rooms/levels to our game. Adding furniture to the rooms. - Testing whether bringing back the posession mechanic through purchasing life/death with jewels will be fun. - Giving players the same keyboard controls across. - Setting up the game to run on a dedicated server, so it's not necessary for a personal computer to host.
